Since its creation, CAP Développement has placed people at the heart of its priorities. Through its projects in Burkina Faso, the association works toward a fairer and more inclusive society by actively supporting women, local initiatives, and the promotion of traditional know-how. Its goal is clear: to create sustainable opportunities, strengthen community autonomy, and promote equal opportunities.

In several localities of Burkina Faso, CAP Développement has funded and supported the construction of multi-purpose platforms dedicated to women’s groups. These spaces serve as real hubs for empowerment and activity, where women can gather, produce, receive training, and develop their own economic initiatives in a safe and suitable environment.

Convinced that training is key to empowerment, the association has set up practical workshops to support women in creating small production units. These trainings focus in particular on artisanal soap-making and the processing of local food products, thereby helping to promote local resources and generate sustainable income.

CAP Développement also supports a youth assembly, with which it develops projects focused on community engagement, awareness-raising, and training. This collaboration aims to encourage civic participationinitiative-taking, and the active involvement of young people in community life.

For many years, CAP Développement has maintained an active partnership with Artisans du Monde in Normandy. Thanks to this collaboration, a selection of African handicrafts is available in ADM shops as part of fair trade initiatives. The funds raised directly help finance local projects in Burkina Faso, while also promoting traditional craftsmanship.

Through conferencestraditional African cooking workshopsAfrican music concerts, and the discovery of traditional games such as Awalé, the association invites people of all ages to immerse themselves in Burkinabe culture, while sharing values of solidarity and commitment.
